The Pink Ribbon is an internationally recognized symbol that represents hope and awareness for those affected by breast cancer. In America specifically, this symbol embodies the National Breast Cancer Foundations (NBCF) aim of funding research for prevention and cure . It signifies the progress the USA has made towards quality research that has resulted in increased survival rates and improved quality of life.

 

October is known internationally as Breast Cancer Month. It is a time when people across the world come together to recognise the impact of breast cancer on the community.

 

Pink Ribbon Day, the fourth Monday in October, is America's signature day when we ask everyone to wear their Pink Ribbon, Pin or Wristband to show their support for breast cancer research. From the beginning of October the NBCF ensures Pink Ribbons are available through retail the outlets of our key supporters.
